Plans for North Baton Rouge Site
A new Family Dollar store is planned in north Baton Rouge following the recent sale of previously vacant land on Plank Rd., says Ben Graham of SVNGraham, Langlois & Legendre Commercial Real Estate. The site measures approximately 3.2 acres and sold for $400,000. The site included the purchase of excess land to use to satisfy fill requirements for the building site.
Construction at the store, which will be at 5566 Plank Road, will begin within the next sixty days with expected completion in 8-10 months, Graham says. Family Dollar stores typically measure about 10,000 square feet. This will be a relocation of an existing store to allow better accessibility and functionality of the space.
The buyer of the tract is a limited liability company called 3D Plank Road, LLC of Houston, Texas and the seller was Saleem and Aicha Dabit. The Buyer has developed a number of stores throughout the state recently and is a regional developer for Family Dollar.
Headquartered in Matthews, North Carolina, Family Dollar is a publicly traded company with more than 7,100 stores in 44 states, including 20 in the Baton Rouge area.
